📦 Creating a New Inventory Item

Your inventory is the heart of your rental business — and setting it up in Flecto is super straightforward (with a little AI magic to help).

Whether you're adding your first product or your hundredth, here’s everything you need to know to get it right from the start.

🧠 Properties

Start with the basics — we’ll handle the heavy lifting.

Item title: Just add the name.

Flecto's AI will auto-fill the rest (description, address, and images) - Yes, it’s that easy!

Category: You can choose your own custom category.

Image check: Always double-check the AI-generated image to make sure it matches your actual item. You can also upload your own.

💰 Pricing

Get your pricing strategy in place with a few quick settings.

🧾 Taxable Product

Taxes will be auto-applied based on your account settings.

But if needed, you can override them per item. You can always reset to the default tax ret set in your account.

📊 Rentals Up To

Set prices that make sense for your business. Enter your tax-inclusive price and choose between:

  • Price per day

  • Price per hour

Then click on ‘+Add row’ to keep adding your prices according to your pricing strategy.

⏱️ Overtime Charge

Flecto gives you two flexible options to charge for periods longer than the maximum interval set in the previous step.

  • Charge minimum interval: Automatically calculated by multiplying the smallest billing interval.

  • Customize rule: Set your own rate per extra hour or per extra day.

🏦 Other Settings

  • Add a deposit if needed — it will apply regardless of rental duration.

📋 Inventory Settings

Let’s talk availability and visibility.

  • Set as Active: Toggle on if you want the item available for bookings.

  • Show in Flecto Store: Choose whether this item appears in your online store.

  • Manage Stock:

    • Set a quantity to track availability in the Stock field below.

    • Leave it unchecked for unlimited stock (∞).

  • Allow Overbooking:

Let customers book even when the item is technically unavailable — great for:

    • Backup stock

    • Shared-use items

    • Overflow flexibility
