Adding a new customer in Flecto is more than just data entry — it’s the first step to smooth rentals and zero surprises down the line.
Most of the fields are optional, but we highly recommend filling in all the fields to create a complete customer profile. Think of it like future-you saying thanks — everything from identification to documents will run smoother with the right info in place!
📄 Basic Info
Enter the customer’s key contact details:
Name (required)
Customer type: Individual or Company
Email address
Phone number
VAT number
Best practice: Fill out as many fields as possible for a complete customer profile.
🪪 Identification
You can:
Note down a form of ID (it can be a passport, driver’s license, ID)
Check if the customer’s ID has been verified
Useful for protecting against fraud, especially for high-value rentals.
🏠 Address
Add a billing or shipping address if needed.
🌍 Language
Set the customer’s preferred language for:
Notification emails
Contracts
Quotes
Languages available:

💸 Discount
Assign a percentage discount for recurring customers. It will be applied automatically to all future bookings.
🗒 Internal Notes
Use this for internal comments or customer preferences. Only your team can view these. Notes support formatting like bold, italic, and bullet points.
